Individuality and God
The difference between self-righteousness and universal righteousness is often confused by religion. Universal righteousness is the rightness that suggests useful behavior with harmonizing qualities to the purpose of the universe. Here, righteousness loses all religious dogma about what is right and wrong. Here it takes on a quality of practicability and common sense. There is no truth on this planet that is ultimate! There is and always will be a higher truth. Basic truths are fundamental and therefore necessary, but never in the history of mankind have words expressed ultimate truth. Therefore, righteousness is a day by day process of living which varies from individual to individual.
There are different levels of harmonies and disharmonies (right and wrong.) Finding the most appropriate level is a process of evolution, changing with the awareness of the individual. Universal righteousness is a concept that will lead a person to the God Center of their heart and assist them in finding a "useful" place in this living universe.
Universal righteousness and self-righteousness can be compared to John F. Kennedys words, "ask not, what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country." The universe is designed to support all life, but it will not readjust all of its laws to support the individuals version of rightness. However, the individual does have a version of reality that is considered right. This is what is called "self-righteousness," or the rightness of self.
What people usually refer to as self-righteousness is often annoying to others. But there is a rightness of self that should be considered, otherwise the self becomes weak and without purpose. You can think of yourself in a linear sense, as a point between total individuality and the Universal God. God is, of course, Life, therefore "total" individuality would mean death. If you raise your awareness high enough (or deep enough) you become aware that you are God, the complete version of Universal Righteousness. For God truly is the center of your existence, a concept humans cannot yet comprehend. As you sink deeper into the illusion of self, you begin to believe you are separate from God.
Now illusions are energy; and energy is the closest thing to reality in existence. One of my favorite phrases is "pain in an illusion, but it sure does hurt!" I dare you to convince anyone that "hurt" isnt real. But illusion, by its definition cannot be real. . . why? Because illusion is not eternal in its nature just like humans are not eternal in their nature. In the realm of God, where things are eternal and absolute, all things unlike God are illusion, for they will pass away.
Humanity, as it is, is an illusion, that will pass away. Why? Because they do not retain within the elements of their humanity the eternal nature of God. . . yet. The souls that embody into this race of humanity are of God and eternal in nature. Therefore they continue to return, struggling to raise the human awareness high enough to understand the concept of Universal Righteousness, which is Love. As humans learn to listen to their heart, (the God within) they will become more eternal, until they arrive at that place of "no more death."
To do this, man must find a balance between self-righteousness and universal righteousness. Because what is right for one person, may not be right for another; however what is right for the Universe is right for all. Universal Righteousness applies to all life, therefore must be broad in its allowance of personalities and differences in the body of the Universe. It is impossible to embody total Universal Righteousness and remain "individual." In the Mind of God, those things considered and thought upon exist only by the grace of God. If the Mind of God no longer considered the individuality created in the depths of illusion, that individuality loses awareness and ceases to exist; a tragic loss to a loving creator.
Individuality is part of the purpose of coming to this planet. We came to feel separate and to create energies of separateness. You see, while you are connected to the One Universe, it impossible to create energies of individuality, because you do not believe you are separate. You cannot create what you do not believe. Therefore many souls came here to create personality and separateness, thus create individuality.
This is a common process throughout the Universe. Worlds are placed in some level of illusion to create energies and concepts of aloneness. However, being totally alone is not good. Therefore, the energies of aloneness are processed until they become aware enough that they stand some where between alone and together. There is a half-way point that is good. To have a personality means to be different in some way from the rest. The spirit forges this personality in the depths of illusion. When the human personality becomes totally aware of the spirit and is willing to work with the spirit, for spirit is the creator of man, both win. Spirit can enjoy the concept of separateness while the human mind enjoys the concept of oneness.
It may offend many people when I say, that humans beings are one of the lowest intelligent life forms in the Universe. They suffer, if you will, from the greatest level of illusion of separation allowed in the Universe, short of complete death it's self. Or in other words, humans are almost completely unaware of how or why they exist. There is a reason for this. While Earth humans are perhaps not very bright, they are given life by legendary souls, some of the greatest. The level of separation was chosen by those here now on the planet to create the desired sense of self. Finding a stable balance between oneness with all-that-is and self-contained-individuality is a tricky art.
The soul's awareness is buried in the illusion and must remain there until it has balanced its energies enough that is can approach Universal Reality without falling apart. The energy must be completely balanced and totally stable within the concepts of self before total awareness of Universal Reality can be given to the soul. Therefore it is said, "only the pure in heart can see God and withstand the fire of God." Everyone on this planet has a personal reality that does not fit into the Universal Reality, therefore they are kept in illusion. Though many spiritually evolved souls wish for the illusion to pass away, so that they might once again be with God, it is not the intent of God to allow the individuality that has been created to die or be wiped out by the sudden and complete realization that all-is-one.
The desire to be one with God is a great step in the direction to Universal Righteousness. But many automatically assume that they will remain untouched by this real-ization that they are part of the One Living God. Our soul is a collection of energies claimed and created by our will. Our will, when in it's highest truth is actually God's Will. For God's Will is the force that maintains and sustains the energies of the soul. Maintaining and controlling these energies is a tough job. While in this body, the burden of soul is great. But the Will of God is eternal, therefore what it deems acceptable also becomes eternal. Or in other words, if the Will of God decides that it will maintain the form of a specific energy, that form becomes eternal, for the Will of God now supports it.
The depths of this cannot be fully explained on this plane of existence. But I can say this: If God remembers it, it still exists! When God forgives you for your so-called sins, He simply forgets those nasty things you created and therefore they no longer exist. But such forgetting can only take place with the permission from your soul. Therefore, if a soul hangs on to these nasty creations that we call sin, God will not forget them. He gave us the ability to create and only when "WE" deem a creation unworthy to sustain, will the powers that be commence to forget them.
