The God in Heaven
The first place anyone looks for God is in Heaven. Its the obvious place for Him, right? And of course, in order to go to heaven and be with God, we instantly assume that we must die first. Its an age-old rule and few have been able to break.
So lets assume that you want to be one of those few that are special enough to break the rules and get away with it. How would you meet God in Heaven? There have been a couple of impressive attempts, the Tower of Babel being one of them. But say you didnt have the desire or the resources to build your own Tower of Babel, yet you were still intent on meeting God in heaven, where else would you turn? Death and the Tower of Babel both sound like unpleasant tasks that any honest procrastinator would put off as long as possible. Besides, neither is likely to work anyway and then where would you be? Dead or your head so far in the clouds youre not sure which way is up.
But assume for a moment that you could find God in Heaven, right here on earth. Would you look for Him? You really dont have to go very far, travel wise. You just have to know where to look and what you are looking for. And remember there are millions of angels and spiritual beings that want you to find God in Heaven, so ask them to help. Even our Eternal Father/Mother God wants to help.
Starting with the concept of Heaven, what is it and where is it? Heaven, just like hell, is a state of mind or of the heart. When you are full of bliss, joy and happiness, you tend to think that you are in heaven. Likewise, when you are full of misery, self-pity, hatred and pain, you tend to think that you are in that other place that isnt heaven. And like me express my belief that God can only be found in Heaven. So if you are beating yourself with the intent to make yourself righteous enough to see God, quit it. God can only be found in heaven, so wandering about in the traps of misery and self-abuse does not bring you any closer to God. The Misery just makes you believe that if you entertain it for a time, you will find God. It never happens, until you finally get tired of being miserable and start seeking happiness, which if done right, takes you to heaven where you meet God.
As for that other place, through the veil of death, that everyone tends to think is heaven, it is what is called a "higher dimension." The weight of the body is gone, as well as most of its limitations. There are no mortal diseases, no fear of death and no rent to pay. Of course we would consider it to be heaven. But technically speaking, it is not. Living beings in the higher dimensions can have just as much difficulty finding God as we mortals do here in the 3rd dimension.
Understanding this, it becomes clear that everyone has a right to enter Heaven and God forbids it to none. The only person with any authority to question your right to heaven is yourself. And once you decide you are worthy of heaven, its time to seek it.
Heres where it gets a little tricky. God is in Heaven and you suddenly realize you dont have a clue about what that means. You look at the mountains of biblical literature you have accumulated over the years and come to the conclusion youre just as miserable with your life as you were when you didnt have them. So now what? Where to from here, you ask?
The Kingdom of God is within, so I suggest you start in the heart and with the implications that surround the concept of the heart. God, for all practical purposes is within your heart, literally. So lets take what we know of God and apply it to what we know of the heart, and realize that we are barely scratching the surface. But I ask you to believe one thing, to find and understand God is eternal life. It is not something that anyone has done overnight. And there is nothing anyone can tell you that will just take you to God. Its a process of learning and evolvement.
Its impossible to speak of finding God without speaking of Christ. Because you must first find and understand Christ, before you will ever find God. Christ is also within and is your teacher. Christ will teach you everything you need to know to meet God. I hate using vague terms or cliches, but it does come down to listening to your heart.
Listening to your heart is almost impossible when there is a strong human ego. The ego is energy of a false identity. It is not connected to the God Source within the heart and is not eternal in its nature. In fact, the ego is a smoke screen, a deceitful shadow of the true self. It is alive, in a sense, but is not sustained by the Eternal One. Thus it spars with other human egos to steal energy through competition and rivalry. The ego is glutton, always wanting more. But it justifies its self, because the true self is little different. The true self also seeks eternal progression and attainment. But it is sustained by God from within and does not seek to steal energy or resources from another. It has its own eternal source.
So how do you tell the difference? You learn to think through the heart. The ego has not true love, having no direct connection to the Eternal Source. Thus it lacks true compassion and true love. The ego has invented a counterfeit energy called lust that is by its true nature unfaithful and basically without morals. Our society is a network of energy exchange for the ego. This system of the ego oppresses the weak to steal their resources. Obviously, heaven is hard to find in places like this. True happiness is almost impossible to find without God, because nothing is sustained by the Eternal Source. Even romance would eventually fail without the Eternal Source.
Finding God means many things. One, it means you have found your way through the ego to the Eternal Source that it hides. Also means that you have forsaken vain pursuits of the ego. When you have done this, you are ready to listen to the heart, to the Christ within you, and it will lead you into all truth. Keep in mind, that truth may not be the same as everyone elses. But you will find that it compliments and fits in to make a bigger truth that the entire society can enjoy. Then you will be find your life filled with happiness and joy, that life its self flows through your veins causing your body, mind, heart and soul to be eternally motivated in whatever pursuits it desires.
